About

The story…. I am Matt (M4tt), an outdoor enthusiast with many hobbies. Over recent years, my main interest has been volunteering to assist vulnerable individuals and those who simply are unable to look after themselves, their homes and/or gardens.

I am a full-time shift worker who has given up my own time to help complete a range of tasks at ‘cost’ prices. I have always taken pleasure in providing trust and reassurance to anyone that has required help.

I am not sure how my interest started but I began looking into tree surgery and tree care. Once I did, I was hooked! Unfortunately, I soon discovered the expense of training, equipment, insurance, machinery, advertising and much more. It made me realise why tree care can often come with a price tag.

My journey has taken me through training courses and assessments in line with City & Guilds Forestry and Arboriculture Level 2 and 3. This has been heavily supported by the coaching and support of the team at South Yorkshire Tree Services.

I finally started my new, part-time career as a tree care specialist. Now certified to maintain my own machinery, understand the legislation, survey, climb and fell trees, rescue other workers, use ropework for access to higher areas and swing by ropes using chainsaws. My intention is to re-invest any proceeds towards further arboricultural qualifications.
